Remnant of gallo-roman origin, the site hosts a thousand-year-old path lined with box trees and Notre Dame du Châtelier chapel which is now a religious art museum.
To the north of Saint Lumine de Coutais, the Clos des Buis is an estate including the priest's house dating back to the beginning of the 18th century, the former house (nearby building with a bread oven), Notre Dame du Châtelier chapel and the garden.
Box trees were sacred during Antiquity, for both Gaulois and Romans : this evergreen bush was considered as a symbol of eternity and is often found on gallo-roman housing sites.
In this garden, they form a hedge composed of a dozen of stumps along the graveyard north wall
These arborescent box trees can be 8 or 9 meters high, which is quite exceptional in France.

The garden is close to the Religious Art museum which opens only once a year, on Heritage Day in September.
